The BVWC Scholarship Fund

Our scholarship is awarded to a local woman returning to school whose course of study will positively impact the Babylon community.

To raise money for our scholarship fund, we host various fundraisers throughout the year.

Each July at our annual Luau, we host a dinner dance at the Babylon Village pool to honor the scholarship winners.

ELIGIBILITY: Eligible candidates for the Babylon Village Women’s Club (BVWC) Scholarship will be non-traditional female student living in the Town of Babylon. A high school diploma or its equivalent is a pre-requisite to application. We have defined non-traditional as students who are returning to school, not directly from high school.

Previous recipients of a BVWC scholarship are eligible to reapply each year/term provided they can show proof of completion and a passing grade of 3.0 or the equivalent of a previous course funded by the BVWC scholarship.

Applications for a scholarship will be accepted for consideration with priority given to those applicants that have not had any previous educational degrees or certificates/licenses and who have not had continuous schooling.

Current BVWC Scholarship Committee members are not eligible for a scholarship while serving on this committee nor may they apply within the same calendar year their service ends.
